Oishi Restaurant – The best Japanese food in Reading

Published

on

An Oishi is a dreamer. They have wonderful smiles with the bestest dimples and are warm friends. Oishis are food and art connoisseurs and love to appreciate the simple things in life.

That was our experience when we arrived to Oishi Restaurant in Reading, a wonderfully friendly little place serving the best Japanese food in Reading.

While if I had a pound for every time a restaurant claimed themselves a ‘dining experience’, I could finally open the bar I’ve always dreamed of, it’s Oishi that more than earn themselves of such a title. Bespoke, perfectly geared toward traditional Japanese food, Oishi brings a wisdom to sushi and rice wine that cannot be compared, Japanese cuisine is not only sushi there amre many delicius dishes that don’t involve rolled-up bites of fish and vegetables. Chicken Yakitori, Takoyaki or my favourite chicken Katsu.

Oishi was made for those that care for ingredients, enjoy the history of Washoku dining and appreciate omotenashi hospitality. Trying to up my Japanese game, there couldn’t have been a better place to find out how sake and Eastern dining go hand in hand.

More drive-thrus around the region are starting to open up to take orders from customers as the coronavirus lockdown is eased, see the McDonald branaches have opened

Workhouse Coffee shop recognised as one of the best in Britain

Published

on

By

Workhouse coffee is an independent coffee company conceptualised by people wanting to create a unique and exciting experience in coffee. For workhouse this means sticking to our original ideals and not deviating from these. This is why nearly 10 years ago they opened a coffee house with the bar sideways and an open section on the bar to encourage transparency and allow the customers to get involved.

The cornerstones of the business model are driven by ethics, quality, and experimentation. They trade directly with the farms we buy from ensuring the farmers are paid a fair price for their beans. They make buying decisions based purely on what is the very best coffee available – irrespective of price. Lastly, they are constantly experimenting with the layout of our shops and the way the customers interact with our product. This means involving people in the coffee experience and making the process of building your drinks overt and accessible.

They are excited to now be able to offer you the opportunity to buy our award winning coffee online. For those of you that are unfortunate enough to not be able to visit one of our local shops simply click on the Buy Coffee link and see which of our hand roasted single origin coffees or specifically formulated blends is right for you.
