After a by-election prompted by the passing of Councillor and Deputy Mayoress Colette Dennis in June, the Labour Party has successfully maintained control of the Norcot ward.
On Thursday, August 3, the ward’s by-election took place, resulting in the Labour Party emerging as the winner. Finn McGoldrick (Labour) secured victory with a substantial 929 votes, which equated to 58.2 percent of the overall votes cast.
Marie French from the Liberal Democrats claimed the second position with 280 votes, making up 17.5 percent of the votes. Lizzy Shepard of the Conservative Party secured the third spot with 209 votes, constituting 13.1 percent of the total votes recorded.
